I believe that, in my opinion, iPad's future is especially secure with the use of the device as a business tool, such as with the 2X Client for iOS (http://www.2x.com/virtualdesktop/ios)...it's a free download and lets you use Windows apps from your iPad, giving you application publishing and RDP Remote Desktop capabilities for free, in contrast to the Citrix Receiver and Wyse PocketCloud. Definitely worth a look.

Apple never just produce widgets; they engineer solutions that individuals can see fitting into their daily lives eventually. As a university teacher with a busy life, I reckon this being a very useful thing to have.

Nice overview Gabrie, I would also mention that there is the pocket cloud companion app (installed in guest desktop) that allows thin browsing. Handy when things such as flash are needed from ipad.

This app is pretty cool. I did some playing with it last weekend on the iPad. Only issue I've run into so far is that 1024x768 landscape mode is buggy sometimes.. orientation doesn't work correctly. There will be a large black bar on the right edge of the screen. Great post, thanks Gabrie!
