More details about the VMware vExpert status

Last night John Troyer released more details about the VMware vExpert program:

http://blogs.vmware.com/vmtn/2009/01/are-you-a-vexpert-announcing-a-new-community-award.html

Friends, colleagues and your mom and dad can nominate you for the vExpert award. Just have them fill out this form: http://www.vmware.com/communities/vexpert/nomination_form.html

As John writes:

The VMware vExpert Awards will be given to individuals who have significantly contributed to the overall community of VMware users over the past year, either online or offline. You might be contributing online to blogs, forums, wikis, or other online sites. You might be organizing VMUG meetings or otherwise getting the word out to local IT professionals. You’re helping spread the word about virtualization and making people successful in deploying this game-changing technology. We want to thank you.

If your nomination is successful you get to be vExpert for one year and are allowed to use this “status” on websites, e-mail footers, business cards and you might even make it into a bumper sticker :-)

Nominations will be accepted through midnight PST, February 6, 2009. …… An award committee made up of VMware employees will make their selections and announce the award recipients by the end of February, 2009.“  End of February? That might be VMworld Europe in Cannes :-)

Now I know you are just dying to nominate someone for this program, well who to pick????

Check the right hand side of this website and scroll down to “Virtualization Blogs”. There you will find lost of blogs of people that spent a lot of effort in helping others in the VMware Communities and through their blogs.

And….. you can of course nominate me to :-)
