While installing Virtual Center for the first time, I accepted most default settings. After I started using VMware Update Manager, I received errors about lack of diskspace. Turns out that all patches are stored in c:\documents and settings\ something \ something. This ofcourse isn’t what I wanted. I could have selected a different location during install but fortunately someone at the VMware forum pointed me to a XML file in which you can edit the settings:
“C:\Program Files\VMware\Infrastructure\Update Manager\vci-integrity.xml”Â
In this xml there are two references to the patch location:
<patchstore> and <path> under <docRootHostUpdates>
After changing the paths and restarting the VMware Update Manager services, all patches are stored in this location.
Just nice to know :-)
